Created in 1996 by William Illouz, SHALOM RACING TEAM, Israel incorporated structure based in Jerusalem, is the first Israeli motorsport team.
The team raced in the infamous Supersport Trophy Lamborghini from 1996 to 1998 scoring several podiums.
In three years of participation, the team reached three time the podium’s third step, twice on the prestigious Spa-Francorchamps race track and on the french track of Nogaro.
There is no better way than sport to share a message of peace and to show the world that we can all live together. This is a great time to bring SHALOM RACING back as a leading team in worldwide motorsport racing.
William Illouz,
Shalom Racing founder
The team’s first victory was even within reach but the team faced a big disappointment at Imola in 1997 when James Ruffier, in the lead with one lap to go with a victory assured, was taken out by a late competitor!
Today, hopes for peace are materializing in the Middle East, it is now possible to go racing on the Gulf circuits and the nations are now friends. Proof that religions are compatible, we want to go racing in Dubai with a multi-cultural crew mixing religions as we did in the 90s.
The time has changed, mentalities too, but it is still just as important to convey the values of peace and tolerance throughout the world.
SHALOM RACING plans to ramp up and aims to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
